Brigg’s Bomber Quadrathlon has National and European status and combines four different disciplines: swimming, kayaking, cycling and running. Organgise by organised by members of LINCSQUAD (Lincolnshire Quadrathlon Club), this year the race is sponsored by Keyo Agricultural Services once again.
You can join in as a team of 2, 3 or 4 members and you must be 16 years old to compete (under 18s require parental consent).
If you are entering as a solo competitor, it will be part of the British Championships, part of the British Quadrathlon National Trophy series and a World Quadrathlon Federation World Cup race.
Taking place in Brigg town centre, this quadrathlon requires physical and mental strength, putting the human body and mind to the test. Competitors tackle an awe-inspiring 1.5k swim, 7k kayak course, 36k cycle ride and 10k run as they race against the clock.
The upstream swim begins at 8.30am in the River Ancholme behind Brigg Leisure Centre at the disabled access kayak ramp. After all elements of the quadrathlon have been completed, prizes and presentations take place in the afternoon at Brigg Leisure centre.
The crowds certainly turn out to support the competitors as they take on this mighty challenge, fighting it out for victory. Competitors can compete solo, in a team or in a corporate team as they ‘bomb’ through the tough course.
The Keyo Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon has always been an exciting event to watch, even if you’re not very athletic yourself……
Prepare yourself for a gripping spectacle when you watch the Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon – it’s not to be missed!
