For aviation fans in Lincolnshire, it was sad news to hear that the much-loved Waddington Air Show would not be held this year due to refurbishment of the runway.

But fear not! We are here to bring you the best alternatives from around the county.

East Kirkby Air Show – August 1st

This is one of the biggest air shows in the area and is run to help raise funds for the on-going restoration of Avro Lancaster NX611.

There will be re-enactment characters interacting with visitors on the day, we well as Lancaster taxy runs, trade stalls, vintage cars, military vehicles, kick boxing demos and much more.

During the show, you will get a chance to see the following aircraft and display teams in action;

  • Wildcats Aerobatic Team
  • Calidus Auto-Gyro
  • P51 Mustangs
  • Spartan 7W
  • Breitling Team
  • Bristol Blenheim
  • Supermarine Spitfire
  • Buchon me109

  • Captain Neville’s Flying Circus
  • Scottish Aviation Bulldog
  • Silence Twister

Please note, tickets are limited to 4,000 so it is vital that you try and buy your tickets early!

Visitors to the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre will also find Lancaster Taxy runs available throughout August and September.

Props and Pistons – August 31st

August bank holiday Monday sees the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre hold its fourth ‘Props and Pistons’ event.

There will be many exotic cars on display, ranging from Lamborghinis to Bentleys to Aston Martins.

Vintage models of cars and aircraft, some worth millions of pounds, will all be on show for the public.

There will also be a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight featuring the Avro Lancaster, Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane.

Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble – October 17th

Browse through a great selection of stalls and displays at the Newark Air Museum and grab yourself a bargain!

Gates will open at 8.00am for sellers to set up and the public are admitted at 9.00am.

There is on-site parking available and tickets cost £4.50 per person.
