Shop on Lincoln’s High Street

Lincoln High Street is a bustling thoroughfare and ideal for shopping, forming part of Ermine Street (the old Roman London to York road). That’s why it’s very straight and very long!

Don’t worry though – much of it is pedestrianised, so you’ll be quite safe!

At the top end of the High Street, leading off from The Strait, you’ll find an eclectic combination of excellent independent boutiques, an up-market hi-fi shop (Super-Fi), charity shops and a wide choice of places to eat.

Slightly lower down the High Street, you will find all your usual favourite chain stores, including: M&S, House of Fraser, Fat Face, River Island, Primark, Boots, WH Smith, Waterstone’s, etc.

Smaller retailers and ethnic food shops are to be found at the bottom end of the High Street, below St Marks’ Retail Park. One of the best shops in this part of Lincoln is The Lincolnshire Runner. It is the place to go if you want advice about running shoes or trainers (and you don’t have to be an athlete to go there – if you have problems with your feet, you will receive excellent advice about the best footwear for you).

Waterside Shopping Centre

Adjacent to the High Street is the Waterside Shopping Centre.

Lincoln’s Waterside Shopping Centre is a three-story, covered shopping mall that has recently undergone a £9 million facelift.

Housing a combination of household names and independent retailers, the Waterside now has a brand new Next and H&M. It is also located alongside the River Witham in a stunning location, so is worth a visit even if you’re not into your shopping!

Opening Times:

Monday – Saturday   9am – 5.30pm

Sunday   10.30am – 4.30pm
