The Museum of Lincolnshire Life

The Museum of Lincolnshire Life, located on Burton Road, is just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln’s castle and cathedral.

This excellent museum focuses on all aspects of life in Lincolnshire in byegone eras, and really is a fascinating way to spend a couple of hours.

Located in a former barracks, you enter The Museum of Lincolnshire Life through an impressive set of wrought iron gates and into the gatehouse – adding to the sense of anticipation of what is to come.

The Museum of Lincolnshire Life is very popular with locals and tourists alike (it is the largest community museum in Lincolnshire).  It’s a great place to bring the kids and there are always lots of activities for them to do.

As you emerge from the gatehouse into an enclosed courtyard that has a lovely children’s play area AND some impressive agricultural machinery, you just know that you’re in for a treat!

It’s informative without being boring, and there are lots to see and do.  The museum’s staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.

With a visitor satisfaction rate of over 96 per cent, The Museum of Lincolnshire Life is a ‘must see’ during your stay in Lincoln.
